Individual Sessions
Individual counseling is one of the bravest journeys a person can take. I typically use a lens of attachment science to assist clients in processing their stories and life themes that they bring into the counseling room, meaning I delve into their childhood attachments and upbringings as well as the family roles and rules from their families of origin. This process can be very clarifying for clients struggling to understand why they find themselves in repeated patterns of behavior, life choices, relationships, and more– or even clients who struggle to feel like they truly know themselves at all. I also use techniques drawn from somatics (how our bodies express emotional distress with physical symptoms) and what the therapy world calls parts language (e.g. “a part of me feels ___ but another part of me feels the opposite and it’s distressing”).
I also offer individual counseling for those who are in couples or family counseling and looking to supplement their healing work with individual sessions.
My age range is typically around age 13+* but if I am not able to take on your child, I offer referrals for other therapists in the area who provide therapy for minors.
*Please note that if a prospective minor client has divorced parents, before scheduling I am required by law to obtain signed consent from both parents if legal custody is split. I also require documentation of the divorce decree and custody arrangement to be on file for my records.

Couples Sessions
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to Couples counseling is a vulnerable place to find yourself and your person. I am fully trained in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy and use its techniques to draw on your attachments to each other and help you as a couple learn tools and communication patterns in order to move from a negative cycle to a positive cycle. While not a quick fix, committing to each other and to the process in couples therapy can hold life-long benefits for your attachments to each other and your understanding of your own patterns. I believe that couples who are both committed to attending therapy and putting in the work to vulnerably learn new patterns are capable of success and healing in their relationship.
I also offer premarital counseling for couples about to get married or looking to process whether their relationship dynamics are ready to step into the commitment of marriage.
Please note that any couples sessions are not covered by insurance billing codes so I offer them at private pay ranging $110-145 per 55-minute session.
